How buying on ToA works

From first search to delivered cloth: what happens at each step, and how your money is protected.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Browse and learn

Search by technique, region or material. Each listing links to the heritage guide of its tradition, so you know what you are buying.

  2. 2

    Check the details

Every listing shows the price per metre, the minimum order, the lead time, the materials and the producer's reputation badge and reviews.

  3. 3

    Order

Add the quantity you need to your cart and pay at checkout. For larger volumes, send a bulk order request to the producer from the listing page.

  4. 4

Your payment is held in escrow

The producer is not paid yet: the funds stay in escrow while your order is prepared and shipped.

  5. 5

    Receive and confirm

Follow the order from its tracking page. When the cloth arrives, confirm delivery and the producer is paid. If you do not respond, funds are released automatically 30 days after shipment.

  6. 6

    Review

Rate the fabric and the producer. Reviews feed the reputation badges that help other buyers.

If something is wrong

If your order does not match its listing, open a dispute from the order page and add photos. Our team reviews the evidence from both sides, may hold the escrowed funds while it does, and can issue a partial or full refund when the dispute is upheld.

Trust signals

  • Verified producers: identity and business registration checked before the storefront is published.
  • Reviewed listings: new fabrics are moderated before they appear in search.
  • Reputation badges (Rising, Trusted, Exemplary) earned from reviews and repeat customers.
  • Escrow on every order.
